(1) A person whoβ(a) procures or attempts to procure the entry of any name on the register by willfully making or producing or causing to be made or produced, either orally or in writing, any declaration, certificate or representation which the person knows to be false or fraudulent; or(b) falsely or fraudulently holds himself or herself out to be a registered teacher, commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding twelve months, or to both.(2) A person shall notβ(a) without reasonable justification or other lawful excuse, obstruct or hinder, or threaten a member or staff or agent of the Commission in the course of duty under this Act;(b) submit false or misleading information; or(c) make false misrepresentation to or knowingly mislead a member or staff of the Commission acting under this Act.(3) A person who contravenes subsection (2) commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
